Apple Macbook & Ibook Lot For Parts Or Repairs.
Up for sale I have 2 Apple laptops for parts or repairs. The Macbook powers on but very infrequently, sometimes it takes 10 reboots to get it to power up properly. Once it is on it runs well for about 30 minutes and then seems to overheat. The iBook powers up fine everytime, but it locks up frequently when plugged in. May be due to a third party power supply but i have no other supplies to test that theory. Both Laptops will come complete with nothing stripped from them. In fact I will be including an extra 802.11g airport card for the Macbook and a basic laptop bag that I never used. Macbook: Was a 2ghz core duo unit with 1gb of ram which I upgraded to 2 gb, that will be included in the sale. It has a relatively new battery that is third party that was purchased last year. I am listing it as not having an operating system as I have partitioned the harddrive and dual installed Snow leopard and Ubuntu on it for fun but with the booting problems I cannot reload one OS and repartition the drive. There are chips in the plastic that came when I got it last year from being opened. There are scratches all over the case so it shows it age. The screen works wonderfully with an eclusion of a small blemish in the upper middle of the screen that looks like there is dirt on the screen but I have tried to clean it so I think the screen is scratched although it is only noticable on bright, mainly white backgrounds. Serial Number is: 4H6384MJVMM iBook: 1.2ghz G4 unit with 768mb of ram and a 80gb harddrive. Works quite until it heats up and then locks up when it is plugged in. As I noted earlier it is a third party power supply and it also has a 3rd party battery that is fairly new. I am not sure if that is the cause of the lock up and heating problem but I do not want to take the time to fix it anymore. Might be an easy fix and a nice gift for grandma and grandpa or the kids if you get it working. Like the Macbook there are small pressure marks from being opened by thre previous owner, marks are fairly minor as well as fine scratches to the white candy finish. I am selling both in a lot as is with no returns so please bid accordingly, though I have made note of every flaw or defect I am aware of in this listing. As the majority of the parts are functional and usable to fix other machines, there is still a lot of value in these items so incase the bidding goes over $400 or the buyer uses Buy-It-Now, I will also throw in a Sandisk 32gb Solid State Harddrive I was using up until I upgraded to a 64gb drive after christmas and I will pay for the shipping for an almost $80 value! (most likely a partial refund after paypal checkout if you pay before I can send an invoice on the shipping) The drive is the SATA 5000 32gb drive so it is fairly old, but was rock solid the year I used it in my school laptop for college.
