Fix for ‘guest account’ on MacBook?

I bought a macbook, this is the old white one. I love it, but there one thing that confuses and frustrates me. If I decide to turn on the guest account. Within a minute of turning it on. Then the computer starts freezing up and slowing down incredibly. Is there anything to explain or fix this; Am i the only one that experiences this problem in the world.
