Not the new macbook pro, the old silver one, its got a big dent nothing else, like how much is it to replace it? I bought it in 2007.

I've been looking around on sites like newegg because I'd like to upgrade my macbook pro. I bought it about 8 months ago and it came with 2gb but it can handle 4gb (i'm pretty sure).

Do I have to get a 4gb to replace it or can I just buy 2gb to add on? And where can I get it for cheap?

I just pulled my hard drive from my macbook after I was replacing the messed up one, and was wondering if I could use the old/messed up one as a harddrive in my PS3. But the problem is whenever I try to format it on my PS3 through the normal upgrade process, on my pc or on my newly repaired mac through a USB enclosure, all 3 devices won't detect the harddrive. Help?

I made the switch from PC to mac a few months ago, with the new imac. I'm going to college next year, and for Christmas I'm getting a laptop. I'm deciding between macbook and macbook pro. I was thinking the white 2.2 ghz, but once I added more memory and hard drive (is this needed?) it's only 200 less than the cheapest macbook pro. If someone could go through the pros and cons of each (for someone who is pretty computer illiterate.. like I'm not even sure what the hard drive does...).

If it helps, I'm going to be majoring in writing, but the kind I'm doing is in the media department, so I'll be taking media production classes and such.
I should also add that the macbook pro is refurbished. The only difference I can tell about the refurb to the regular one is that 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) isn't a a double layer. What does that mean?

And has anyone had a bad experience with a refurb. and does it mean that it wont last as long?

Now that you know its refurb, do you still think I should take the macbook pro over the macbook?
