Should I buy Macbook Pro 15" or 17"?

Im getting a Macbook Pro this Christmas, but I'm still not sure which size to buy the 15" or the 17". Im a student so I need a computer that small and lightweight, that's why I choose the Macbook Pro. What differences (besides the size) are there between the 15" and the 17"? I want to make a good decision becuase the 17" (00) is 0 more than the 15", is it really worth it to buy the 17" even if the size is the only difference?
