How would a color hardshell case look on a black MacBook?

I want to buy a hardshell case for my black 2.4Ghz Macbook soon because I'm going on a trip. I am wondering if anybody has bought a semi transparent color hard shell case for a darker colored laptop. Would it look okay? I'm worried the darkness of the laptop would throw off the effect of the color. Thanks!
